We ended up getting the Broadband2Go MiFi Device from Virgin mobile which runs on the Sprint network. This will give us the secure internet access we want, however as I mentioned before, a good deal of our time will be spent in areas where there will not be
any cell service at all. The Broadband2Go is about the size of a credit card and can support up to five devices at a time. It's a pay as you go so we only pay for what we use. Time will tell if this device will work well enough to replace our home internet provider.
