We left Elephant Butte this morning and had an easy drive to Los Cruces. We had lunch and did some shopping.  Los Cruces is larger than we thought; everything you would want in restaurants and shopping is here.  We checked into the Coachlight Inn and RV Park, on the west end of town, for two nights.  Tomorrow morning we will drive the car up to White Sands National Monument and spend the day.

They are predicting some high winds for tomorrow. That was one reason we decided to stay here in Los Cruces and drive the car to White Sands.  Wind can be a real problem for this part of the country and it can come up at any time. We have been so fortunate so far with the beautiful weather we have had, including today which has been mid 80’s. I have a feeling that by the time we get to Arizona we are going to be in for some hot weather.
