We didn’t do much today but grocery shopping this morning and
a drive around the town of Elephant Butte in the afternoon. We managed to find the towns elite
neighborhood built around a beautiful 18 hole championship golf course named
Sierra del Rio and Turtleback Mountain Resort. It is a beautifully manicured
area in the middle of the desert. It is quickly becoming New Mexico’s most
prominent year around and vacation home choice.
After the ride it was back to the RV to grill some steaks and to
spend some time enjoying the almost full moon rising over the lake.
Tomorrow we are leaving here and heading to Hidden Valley RV
Park in Deming NM. We have heard some good things about this park and we are going to
check them out for ourselves. The only downside mentioned about this park is
that there is no cell service. Service is available in the town of Deming but
we will be located to far out of town.
