April or July?

First off  I'm surprised we have internet considering where we are. We're camped on the shore of  Elephant Butte lake in Elephant Butte State Park which is located about 150 miles south of Albuquerque. The trip here was nothing but barren desert so getting any cell service was a plus.

 Now for April or July,  the park was full of what we assume are locals who came to fish, boat and SWIM. I felt like shouting it's only APRIL. But it was very warm and we did get sun burned after only 20 minutes of sitting watching the activities.
