Mesa Swap Meet
We started the day by going to the 'large swap meet' in Mesa. It's billed as mile and a half of covered merchandise. Something for everyone. We were very disappointed, not what we were expecting. It's more of a open air strip mall. We then loaded up said goodbye to the GOOD LIFE and headed for the dessert of Quartzsite.

There is only one word to describe Quartzsite, HOT! Inside the camper the temperature is 102.9. We do have shade outside so it is tolerable. We are camped on BLM land, you can drive in and camp anywhere that isn't designated as day use only. Our spot is very private, above a large dry wash overlooking the desert, only 18 miles from Calf.

The town of Quartzsite is a pretty wild place, rock shops and flea markets everywhere, tomorrow we will be spending the day in town just looking around, I can't wait. It's a well known fact that the elderly gentleman that runs the used book store in town is a little eccentric, he doesn't wear clothes, I don't know if we will be stopping there. Check him out at
